I recently downloaded the demo version of Corel's newly-released Painter X, and it's looking pretty awesome! I'm particularly eager to test out the new RealBristle feature that better replicates the look and 'feel' of brush strokes and details, which I have been wishing to incorporate into some of my work (particularly for hair, fur, tufted clouds, grass, etc).
I've also discovered an awesome UK magazine called ImagineFX that highlights new technology and artists in the genres of fantasy and sci-fi. They include some great tips, workshops, and other freebies in every issue, and it's great to have such a specialised publication for my needs! I'll be getting a subscription soon, for sure, as this will definitely help me develop my own skills further. And it's such a lovely mag too!
So many new toys/resources, so little time.
